A Visitor

Last night when I was coming home from the Western Quilters Meeting,
I caught sight of some eyes in my headlights.
I slowed down as I thought it was a cat but when I got closer
I discovered it was a little dog.  I stopped the car in the middle of the
road and got out.  The little dog ran down the middle of the road.
I got down low and called it and he came to me so I picked him up
and put him in the car. I drove a couple of metres to our driveway and
stopped to check his tag.
He had a SPCA foster tag on with a phone number which I phoned
but was after hours.  There is a SPCA worker who lives nearly opposite our
drive but it was late and dark so took the little guy home.

Our dogs were fascinated in this little guy who was smaller
than the cats.  We put him in the cat cage and this morning I called the
animal welfare and left a message.  Eventually the SPCA foster
service phoned and determined that I had Alvin, a year old
Chihuahua who has a flea allergy and being fostered until better.
They called the person who was fostering him and he came and
collected him.

  2. It was hard giving him back. He didn't want to go.

  3. Your good deed will surely be rewarded. I'm sure he was frightened and was lucky to happen across a kind doggy person like yourself
