Cute Pics

Arnie and Jake ever hopeful at dinner time.
It is a 1 km walk to our gate and the last bit is uphill.
Here are the 4 dogs waiting patiently for me to get my breath back.
Poppy relaxing with Ethan and Ashleigh.  She loves being patted and will go to anyone. Oh and not allowed on furniture means nothing.
This ex farm dog sure enjoys home luxuries.  Jake in his basket on the other side of the heater.
Shilo plays really well with Poppy and here they are playing  in Shilos' basket.
Poor Rocky has to put up with a lot.  Poppy should be in the kennel next door but can get through the bars.  Either he is more tolerant these days or he really likes Poppy as this did not work with Shilo when she was a pup.
Shilo just keeping ahead of Poppy on our very muddy driveway.

Poppy Pup

Our new puppy, Poppy has settled in well.
She had her second vaccination and has several adult teeth which indicates she is a month older than thought.
Shilo plays well with her and she gets on with the older dogs, Casey and Rocky.  The 2 male cats Arnie and Jake have adjusted well but Chloe the little Siamese cross still keeps a low profile.  Poppy loves the heater and lies on one side of it.  The cat basket is on the other side and the other night Chloe wanted to get in it.
She walked towards it and saw Poppy.  She then carefully walked backwards watching Poppy all the time until she got to the other side of the heater and her basket.

Poppy

Today we went to Ardmore to pick up our pup from Paula.
Paula only had Poppy overnight and fell in love with her.
Here she meets Stuart.  Not at all shy and the little tail wagged non stop.
Here she meets the rest of the family.
A bit mean dangling a sandwich close to a hungry pup.

In the crate in the back of the car ready for the trip home.
Here she is at home.

Check out that cute face.

A Visitor

Last night when I was coming home from the Western Quilters Meeting,
I caught sight of some eyes in my headlights.
I slowed down as I thought it was a cat but when I got closer
I discovered it was a little dog.  I stopped the car in the middle of the
road and got out.  The little dog ran down the middle of the road.
I got down low and called it and he came to me so I picked him up
and put him in the car. I drove a couple of metres to our driveway and
stopped to check his tag.
He had a SPCA foster tag on with a phone number which I phoned
but was after hours.  There is a SPCA worker who lives nearly opposite our
drive but it was late and dark so took the little guy home.

Our dogs were fascinated in this little guy who was smaller
than the cats.  We put him in the cat cage and this morning I called the
animal welfare and left a message.  Eventually the SPCA foster
service phoned and determined that I had Alvin, a year old
Chihuahua who has a flea allergy and being fostered until better.
They called the person who was fostering him and he came and
collected him.
